DR. VERNARD E. HINTON

A native son of Portsmouth, Virginia, Dr. Vernard Hinton has been preaching the Gospel for nearly twenty-five years. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Norfolk State University, in Norfolk, Virginia, a Master of Divinity Degree from Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology of Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia, and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Hinton is married to the love of his life, Lady Tracey Hinton, and they are the proud parents of amazing twin boys: Chase Edward and Mason Edward. Dr. Hinton is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Formerly recognized as one of the top “Twenty Young Influential Leaders” in Hampton Roads, Dr. Hinton’s experience in the areas of leadership development, ministry engagement, assimilation and church planning have propelled him to become a nationally sought after strategist, lecturer, and revivalist. His personality, coupled with his relevant preaching and teaching style, has been characterized as profound, insightful, and practical.

The breadth of Dr. Hinton’s ministerial experience is far reaching having served in various leadership positions including Youth Pastor, Minister of Discipleship, Church Planter, Pastoral Preaching Assistant, and Senior Pastor of churches in Pennsylvania, Texas, North Carolina, and New Jersey. These experiences have enabled Dr. Hinton to introduce innovative initiatives that have enhanced church development, increased revenue, facilitated debt liquidation, and vison fulfillment.

In February 2022 God elevated Dr. Hinton to serve as the eighth Pastor of Springfield Baptist Church, Washington, D.C. Passionate about cross-generational ministry, Dr. Hinton is very intentional about reaching and ministering to every generation ensuring that no one is left behind. Since arriving at Springfield Dr. Hinton has supernaturally led the congregation to become a growing community of faith that leads people to become devoted disciples, discover their purpose and make a difference for the Kingdom.
